Your privacy matters. Tanqly is built on a simple principle: your aquarium data belongs to you, not us.

2. Data We Collect
Data You Provide
- Tank information (name, size, type, setup date, photos)
- Fish and livestock data (species, quantity, dates, health notes)
- Water parameter readings and test results
- Maintenance logs and activity journal entries
- Equipment records and expense tracking
- Photos taken through the camera feature
Data Collected Automatically
- Crash reports and error logs
- Basic app usage analytics (which features are used)
- Purchase and subscription status via RevenueCat
- Device type and OS version
We do NOT collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or any photos outside the app.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Provide and improve the Tanqly app experience
- Send maintenance reminders you configure
- Diagnose and fix technical issues
- Process in-app purchases
We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing.
4. Data Storage
Local Storage (Free Users)
All tank data is stored locally on your device by default. Your data never leaves your phone unless you enable cloud sync.
Cloud Storage (Pro Users — Opt In)
Tanqly Pro users can optionally enable cloud sync. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). You can disable cloud sync and delete your cloud data at any time from Settings.
5. Third-Party Services
- RevenueCat — manages subscriptions
- Expo — app framework and push notifications
- Supabase — cloud sync for Pro users who opt in
- Anthropic API — AI features (Pro only). Images are not stored or used for training.
- Unsplash — stock photography for tank backgrounds
6. Camera and Photo Access
Camera access is requested only when you add a tank photo or use AI scanning. Photos are stored locally. For AI scanning, the photo is sent securely for analysis only and not stored.
7. Children's Privacy
Tanqly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Contact support@tanqly.app if you believe we have.
8. Your Rights
- Export all data via Settings → Export Data
- Delete all local data via Settings → Clear All Data
- Edit any data directly within the app
9. Data Security
Local data is protected by your device's security. Cloud data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). No method of internet transmission is 100% secure.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
